WHAT IS MEDICAL DETOX?
Detox is the short form of the word “detoxification,” which means the removal of toxins from the body.
Medical detox is detoxification that takes place under medical supervision.
Detoxification is the process of eliminating a drug from your body while simultaneously managing the symptoms of withdrawal.
More often than not, detoxing can feel like a daunting task because managing the symptoms of withdrawal can often be very painful.
A successful medical detox program ensures that the detoxing person is comfortable and safe from many medical risks that might arise from discontinuing use of prescription and/or illegal drugs.
At Relieve Medical Detox, we help you quickly quit opioids so you can return to your normal life. A life without repetitive doctor's appointments and the side-effects of opioids.
OUR 7 DAY MEDICAL OUTPATIENT DETOX
After just five days of use, your body has become physically dependent and to quit requires a medical detox to avoid painful withdrawal symptoms. At Relieve, we detox your brain and body from opioids so you can return to your normal life, without repetitive doctor's appointments and annoying side effects from opiate use.
SPECIALIZED TREATMENT PROTOCOL
Our program is tailored to patients who are ready to easily stop using opioids and minimize withdrawal symptoms. Our treatment is NOT the same as a taper protocol. We do not simply cut your prescription in half.
Our treatment uses:
Decrease Detox Time
Relieve Withdrawal Symptoms
During the detox process we use specific medication substitutes to decrease detox time, ease any withdrawal symptoms, and curb cravings you may encounter.
Detox and Avoid Withdrawals
Heal Your Body with IV Therapy and other natural services
Meet with your case manager to address any concerns you have
In addition to your specific detox medications, our detox treatment includes IV Therapy and other natural services to restore nutrients and promote healing for the body throughout the process.
During your treatment, you will be assigned a Case Manager to monitor your progress. Our case managers have first hand experience with opioid use related to surgery and will consult with you throughout the process to help address any emotional concerns you might have.
Patients are assessed daily in our facility during 1-2 hour appointments where a collaborative detox plan is created, monitored, and tailored for maximum comfort to detox at home.
We partner with the patient to manage symptoms of withdraw to ensure successful program completion.
This is all done on an outpatient basis, meaning that you only come in to our office once a day for seven days to get your medications and detox treatments.
You can detox by not taking the drug any longer and then try to manage the withdrawal symptoms on your own or in a supervised facility. These choices can be painfully uncomfortable and expensive. Or, you can choose a medical detox as an inpatient or outpatient.
- Inpatient means checking into a facility for many thousands of dollars.
- Outpatient means visiting an addiction specialist doctor daily as you detox for special detox medications and treatments.
Both can help you minimize your withdrawal symptoms as you are constantly assessed by a professional and given medication to aid in your detox. Both types can be effective, but only an outpatient can keep working their job, keep going home at night, and can keep your detox expenses low.

STOP OPIOID SIDE EFFECTS
WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF CONTINUED OPIOID USE?
Prescription opioids can be useful to manage chronic pain, but they come with risks even when used appropriately. In addition, when used too frequently, inappropriately, or without a prescription, they can also cause serious life-threatening effects. Here just a few of the risk:
Short-term effects of opioids and morphine derivatives include:
Physical Dependence and Addiction
Unintentional Overdose and Death
Long-Term Effects of opioids and morphine derivatives include:
Physical Dependence and Addiction
Unintentional Overdose and Death - Respiratory Depression and Failure
Constipation, Sleep-disordered Breathing, Fractures, Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal Dysregulation
Tolerance can also occur, meaning that long-term users must increase their doses to achieve the same high.
Actual Changes to the Brain Chemistry - Brain’s perception of everything from reward to pain management becomes fundamentally distorted
Increased Risk of Depression
