WHAT IS MEDICAL DETOX?

Detox is the short form of the word “detoxification,” which means the removal of toxins from the body.

Medical detox is detoxification that takes place under medical supervision.

Detoxification is the process of eliminating a drug from your body while simultaneously managing the symptoms of withdrawal.

More often than not, detoxing can feel like a daunting task because managing the symptoms of withdrawal can often be very painful.

A successful medical detox program ensures that the detoxing person is comfortable and safe from many medical risks that might arise from discontinuing use of prescription and/or illegal drugs.

THE BENEFITS

  • Relieve Bad Side-Effects of Taking Opioids

When you quit taking opioids, you can relieve the side-effects of opioid use such as constipation, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, impaired judgement, and cravings.

  • Avoid Withdrawal Symptoms When Quitting

When you use opioid medication over an extended period of time, you can become depenent. This can happen when your body becomes so used to the drug that if you abruptly stop taking it, you get withdrawal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, muscle pain, anxiety, and irritability.

  • Avoid Potential Addiction

You can become severely addicted to opioid pain medications. People who are addicted compulsively seek out the pain medications. Their behavior usually leads to negative consequences in their personal lives or workplace. They might take someone else’s pills or buy them off the street, which is especially dangerous since those drugs are often laced with lethal amounts of fentanyl.

  • Nervous about taking prescribed opioids after surgery?

If you are about to have surgery, your doctor will give you a plan to rest and recover afterward. This plan might include a prescription opioid to address pain after surgery.

Many people are nervous about taking the prescription because they know the risks of building up a tolerance and becoming dependent on it.

If you're afraid of becoming addicted to opioids after surgery but don't want to deal with pain after surgery, we have a solution for you.

Our detox treatment will allow you to take your prescription as prescribed by your doctor and safely and easily detox after your last dose, without painful withdrawal symptoms. Our detox treatment is not only fast and painless, but you will be able to continue working and enjoying life during the process.

If you would like to find out more about our treatment, please call us to learn more and to schedule your detox according to your last dose.

TYPES OF PATIENTS

We treat patients throughout the continuum of care. If you're experiencing any of these situations, you may qualify for our Outpatient Medical Detox Program.

Pre-Surgery

You must be on a lower dose of opioids before your doctor will perform your surgery.

Post-Surgery

You’ve been prescribed opiates by your doctor following a surgery or injury, but you do not want to take them long term.

Cut-Off

Your doctor has stopped your prescription with little to no warning.

Self-Taper

You’ve tried to cut back, taper, or quit on your own, but serious withdrawal symptoms, have made it difficult.

Chronic Pain

You would like to stop chronic pain treatment using opioids and want to switch to a more natural solution.

Chronic Illness

You have been prescribed opioids by your doctor for an extended period of time and want to stop or switch to a more natural solution without painful withdrawal symptoms.

Many patients who have been on opioid medication for chronic issues are ineligible for pain relief surgery or other surgical procedures because they are currently on opioids.

Surgeons will refuse surgery to patients who are on higher doses of opioids because the patient has developed a tolerance and pain can’t be managed appropriately after surgery.

Learn More

If you have had surgery or are being treated for an injury, you have a plan to follow the doctors orders and rest.  Maybe you have arranged for a loved one to care for you while you are healing. You have made a plan to recover, BUT DOES YOUR PLAN INCLUDE HOW YOU WILL STOP USING OPIOIDS TOO?

This is a critical step most patients don’t consider and dependence on opioids can happen after just five days of use.

YOU NEED A PLAN.

OUR TREATMENT

Asset 1@2x

SPECIALIZED TREATMENT PROTOCOL

Our program is tailored to patients who are ready to easily stop using opioids and minimize withdrawal symptoms. Our treatment is NOT the same as a taper protocol. We do not simply cut your prescription in half.

Our treatment uses:

  • Detox Medications

    Decrease Detox Time

  • Comfort Medications

    Relieve Withdrawal Symptoms

  • Special Medications

    Curb Cravings

During the detox process we use specific medication substitutes to decrease detox time, ease any withdrawal symptoms, and curb cravings you may encounter.

  • Medications

    Detox and Avoid Withdrawals

  • Additional Services

Heal Your Body with IV Therapy and other natural services

  • Consultations

Meet with your case manager to address any concerns you have

In addition to your specific detox medications, our detox treatment includes IV Therapy and other natural services to restore nutrients and promote healing for the body throughout the process.

During your treatment, you will be assigned a Case Manager to monitor your progress. Our case managers have first hand experience with opioid use related to surgery and will consult with you throughout the process to help address any emotional concerns you might have.

This is all done on an outpatient basis, meaning that you only come in to our office once daily to get your medications and detox treatments during the seven day program.

WORRIED ABOUT PAIN AFTER DETOXING?

Our team has sourced non-opiate pain management options for you to explore in case you are still experiencing pain after detoxing. Please call us to learn more.
